Just started reading a book on self leadership. Personally i feel it is necessary to lead yourself well to move on ahead in life. What makes this book interesting is the use of images to drive the point across.
Second chapter of the book is titled "The Starving Baker". Applied to the christian leader context, have we so often care for those around us, feeding them with spiritual nourishment, that we have forgotten to take time to feed ourselves. With all the food around us, have we starved ourselves? It is essentially about taking time for self care, to cover more distance in our race and to do it better.
On a similar note, I was having a dinner with a colleague after work just earlier. It was a casual talk but was reminded of some values which have unknowingly slipped my mind. I was glad for the reminder. I guess this is one of the benefit of deliberately taking time off to connect with others and to connect with yourself.
