New Zealand - Palmerston North

New Zealand is a beautiful land.
We see postcard worthy scenic view almost everywhere we go. It is more so when we are on the travel between town such as these shown here. These were taken on our way to and away from Taupo.
The highlight of this stop got to be the visit to windmill farm which Christina's friend Nigel kindly took us up. It is not a tourist site but I wouldn't be surprised if it become one in the future. Up at the top of the windmill farm, you get magnificient view of the nearby windmills. One word to describe the windmill experience: HUGE These windmills are big!!
Actually there's another word: COLD. Haha, we were all freezing up there due to the strong wind. Imagine 10 odd degrees with wind blowing... Wooooo...

We made a visit to Nigel's aviation academy. Having obtained his license for single engine, we were scheduled to fly up that night. However unfavourable weather made us forgo this opportunity. It was a pity. But we made the most out of the trip by taking lots of photos with the plane and in the simulation training room.

This stop was not much of a sight seeing stop but rather to bunk in with Nigel for the night. It was a different experience in itself. Not the usual hostels but rather living the kiwi's way. It was also amazing to see the thousands of stars simply by lifting your eyes up to the night sky. It simply beat straining your eye to see the one or two stars here in our Singapore sky.

I was so tempted to take on a Private Pilot License here but the costs discouraged me (>US$10,000). Also, I wun be able to fly as often back in Lion City due to airspace constraints.
