New Zealand - Christchurch

Our first stay over in the South Island was in Christchurch. It was not a memorable stay. There weren't great scenes to marvel at, nor was the weather that great. It was in fact a bit warm when we first reached.
Also due to our late arrival, we missed most of the interesting activities that would otherwise make our Christchurch stay a more memorable one. For example, we missed on the Dolphin/whale watch tour which is something we all wanted to do. Especially me. I seems to have an inclination to see dolphins.. in particular the wild dolphins. Perhaps I always wanted to do a comparison with the trained dolphins I see in Dolphin Lagoon, to observe the differences. It was a pity as that was the last stop where this activity was possible.

The main reason for not enjoying christchurch as much as say Taupo was mainly due to our wavering group dynamism. Looking back, I would say every single one of us contributed. I was no exception. Instead of bringing the dynamism back, I found myself struggling with an issue that I had with myself, which only worsen the situation. Not too sure if everyone felt it, but for sure I know things could have been much better. But despite the negativities I have shared during our stay in CHC, something worth mentioning is that this town has architecture buildings which one would expect to see in an Europe Backpacking tour. It certainly is different compared with the rest of the towns in our itinerary. We attended a catholic church service out of curiosity. The 2 girls were good, they were awake for the whole service. Kelvin and myself were dozing away.. only to be wakened when we had to stand as part of the service.

That is about it for christchurch. Next up is the icy Fox Glacier.
