Well.. It has been 26 days since I started work.
I must say so far I am still liking it. My colleagues have been taking care of me and with the ample time given to learn the ropes, I really have nothing to complain.
I once learned something about people's mentality towards work in a HR module back in NUS. Young workers into the workforce have the drive in them and seek jobs which allow them to climb up the corporate ladder with the goal of craving out a career. Older workers tend to look for jobs which offers them stability with a niche income and workplace environment.
Most of my colleagues belong to the 2nd category and I am in a cosy work environment. Many have gotten their 10 years service awards and going onto 15 years soon. A couple of them have gotten their 20 and 25 years awards. (I will be getting my 1 month award soon)
This give rise to a new concern. Will I lose my drive to work hard and be satisfied with the niche environment. I certainly hope not.
