(PS: Tiger is the way - Return tickets cost us just S$80 per person!)
After 2 N stay in Hotel 1, we decided to scout for a better alternative hotel. While driving randomly after dinner 1 night, we came across one which has really good sea view. Facilities looks good and it's cheaper too.
This above pic is not from our hotel. Not Hotel 1 nor 2. This is the third hotel we came across while driving around. This is THE HOTEL. Westin resort or sth. This is their swimming pool which is just some distance from the sea. See the colour contrast above. It's exclusive with their very own quiet beach. Villa is just a stone throw from the sea (really a stone throw) and the villa comes with their own private pool and garden. It cost S$900 for low season per night.
Hotel 3 beach. We were in time for a nice sunset.
An emo moment
Still on the same beach with my faithful sunglass. What we did
1) Beaches of course. Went sun-tanning. But over-crowded with Ang Mohs and couldn't find good spot. So didn't last that long.
2) Watched people did Parasailing... Haha. We didn't.
4) Jalan Jalan quite a bit. Came across this cigar store where we bought a pack of Cigar. We are non-smokers anyway, just to try it out. Also went to a beach pub. Night life in Langkawi isn't that happening. We had some problem trying to find a decent pub.
5) Went take Cable car. No ordinary cable car, but one that is super high that takes you to this bridge that is suspended in the midst of nowhere. Good view from up here thou. Made a few friends along the way. These guys are from England. Currently having internship in Penang as Physio-therapist. Interesting.
7) Island hopping - In this island with cat fishes swimming past ur leg. I have no idea why people are so gian on this. They don't exactly feed on your dead skin, but just swim past. But interesting enough for me to try. Haha.
One of the few single shot I took. At one of the island we hopped.
The things are considered cheap in Langkawi. But the thing is they have limited variety, so u can find the same thing everywhere. We had a lot of fried rice for our meal. Thai style, singapore style, chinese style, malay style etc... Omelet is also everywhere. Thai style, onion, cheese etc...
Another fried rice. This one is good. Mix all the ingredient and eat. Very fragrant.
We had some seafood on the last day.(Their calamari is good. Big bite size fried squid with thai sauce. YUM)
Last but not least, the thing that made this a worthwhile trip was the driving experience. Yes, we rented a car for our entire stay and took turn to drive round Langkawi. It was a Proton Wira. It certainly feels shiok to drive around with no instructor beside u and on highway with little traffic. Still careful is the word. But it certainly was a great experience for me who has yet to drive in Singapore yet. Haha...
