Finally I got to rest this weekend. Not because I have planned for it, but rather because I had to. I was down from mild food poisoning that had made me so sick on Friday night that I had to push away 2 important events over the weekend.
The first was a volunteering event for the launch of EMIT, which is a series of program Student Care Services (SCS) is organizing in celebration of Youth Olympics Games happening next year. After so much planning and coordination, it's kind of a pity I could not be down on the actual event. The second event was for the children church service which my cell mates and I had promised to help out. Essentially it's to give the teachers a break while we take over the whole program, from the worship session to the activities that follow next.
Maybe I kind of packed too much into my life these days. Too much to the extent of not having time to rest. With the recent surge in workload, i guess that kind of made me more vulnerable to sickness. So in a way, I am thankful for the "rest" i had this weekend. The surprising thing is that I am recovering pretty fast, and hope I will be fully recharged and rejuvenated by Monday to face the new week ahead. Of course, I must now learn to say yes only to selective invitations and not to all that comes my way.
